In my paper, I talk about how conversation is difficult, and ways that you are able to fix that and have a better conversation. I also talk about how through conversation, you are able to hear other people’s sides/opinions and it might even make you change your mind about something you once thought that you would never have changed your mind about. In my conversation recording, I interviewed my mom. While doing the interview, I learned that conversation can be very difficult. We were talking about a pretty controversial topic, that many people have different opinions about. Sometimes, we would have a differing opinion and that made it difficult to have a conversation. However, I did notice that when you listen to each others opinions, you can learn new things. By listening to my mother’s side, I was able to learn. It even opened my mind to the possibility of changing my mind on a few things regarding the topic that we discussed. What I learned can be incorporated into my paper because adding in that having a civil conversation with someone that has a somewhat differing opinion, you are able to hear their side of things, and it might possibly change your mind about something.
