Adding quotes into your writing is an important part of the writing process. Quotes allow you to backup the arguments in your paper with credible sources as well as strengthening your paper at the same time. When integrating a quote into your paper, you’re supposed to introduce the quote, then put the quote in, and then explain what you think the quote is saying in your own words. In my second paper, I quoted Chimamanda Adichie, who was talking about her roommate when she moved into college and how her roommate had created and us and them group for Adichie even before she met her because she had been from Africa. After selecting the proper quote to put into my paper, I put it into my paper. After properly citing it, I would explain it in my own words incase it was hard to understand or confusing. I believe that my integration of quotes as developed well since the beginning of the semester. In High School, I always thought of adding quotes into my paper as a force and I never really understand the point of them until now. I now know how beneficial that they are to my papers.
